Same fee for all patients regardless of age
Funding Note: The Canterbury DHB has provided financial support to reduce the cost of home visit services to patients using the Pegasus 24 Hr Surgery but have refused to provide this support to AfterhoursGP.
Available 7 days a week, 6-11pm
Christchurch and surrounding areas
Important: Home visits are for non-emergency medical care only. For life-threatening emergencies, call 111 immediately.
How to Arrange a Home Visit
Pre-Consultation Required
We offer a service of speaking with our GP prior to booking your appointment, as it might be more appropriate for you to be seen at an Accident and Medical or Emergency facility.
Please call the number below to discuss your needs with the GP on call. If the GP agrees that you need a GP visit, you will be directed to proceed to the appointment booking.
Call to Discuss Your Home Visit
Available 7 days a week, 6:00 PM - 11:00 PM
Step 1: Call
Speak with our GP on call to discuss your medical needs and determine if a home visit is appropriate.
Step 2: Book
If approved, the GP will direct you to proceed with appointment booking and arrange the visit.
What to Expect:
- 1.Call to speak with our GP on call about your medical needs
- 2.GP will assess if a home visit is appropriate or recommend alternative care
- 3.If approved, you'll be directed to book the appointment
- 4.Payment ($575) is required before the visit
- 5.Our GP will arrive at your home with medical equipment
- 6.Consultation typically takes 15-30 minutes
- 7.Prescriptions can be sent directly to your preferred pharmacy
